BigCommerce is one of the largest SaaS e-commerce platforms, serving over 60,000 merchants across retail, wholesale, and B2B. The company is building native UCP checkout support at the platform level, following the pattern established by Shopify. Merchants on BigCommerce will gain UCP compatibility without any custom integration work once the platform update ships.
BigCommerce's headless-first architecture makes UCP integration straightforward. The platform already supports storefront-agnostic checkout through its Checkout SDK, and UCP checkout slots in as an additional interface alongside the existing web and mobile flows. The same backend handles orders, inventory, and fulfillment regardless of how the purchase arrived.
BigCommerce serves a higher proportion of mid-market and enterprise merchants than many competing platforms. This makes its UCP integration particularly valuable for AI agents targeting larger catalog sizes, complex pricing rules, and B2B purchasing workflows.
