Google Universal Cart
LiveGoogle's cross-merchant intelligent shopping cart launching in Search and Gemini; backed by Gemini reasoning models and native Google Wallet with UCP checkout.
Announced at Google I/O 2026 (May 19) and detailed further at Google Marketing Live 2026, the Universal Cart is Google's new cross-merchant shopping cart that works seamlessly across Search, Gemini, YouTube, Gmail, and Maps.
Powered by Gemini reasoning models and deeply integrated with Google Wallet, the Universal Cart lets consumers add products from multiple retailers to a single cart and complete purchases either through Google Pay in a few taps or by transferring to the merchant site. Retailers always remain the merchant of record.
Launch partners include Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair, and Shopify merchants including Fenty Beauty and Steve Madden. The Universal Cart rolls out in the US first, with Canada and Australia planned, and UK to follow.
