Scalapay is a European buy-now-pay-later provider founded in Italy, now operating across more than 10 countries including France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Australia. It serves over 8,000 retail partners and millions of consumers. Scalapay has announced plans to integrate UCP payment token exchange.
Scalapay's UCP integration fills a gap in European BNPL coverage for agent commerce. While Klarna dominates the Nordics and UK, Scalapay is the dominant BNPL provider in Southern Europe. For merchants selling to Italian, French, and Iberian consumers, Scalapay UCP support is essential for reaching their existing customer base through agent checkout.
The integration follows the token pre-authorization model. Consumers link a Scalapay account to their AI agent platform. When the agent initiates checkout at a Scalapay-accepting merchant, the payment token is presented and the installment plan is computed and returned in the checkout response. The consumer confirms with a single action in the agent interface.
Scalapay supports split-in-3 and split-in-4 installment options across its merchant network. Both options will be available through UCP checkout, with the installment structure returned in the checkout response payload.
