VTEX is a digital commerce platform used by over 2,600 enterprise merchants across Latin America and globally. Its customers include Ambev, Casas Bahia, Carrefour Brazil, and hundreds of other large retailers. VTEX has announced plans to integrate UCP as part of its platform roadmap.
Latin America is a distinct market for UCP. Payment methods vary significantly by country. Brazil's Pix instant payment system, Mexico's SPEI bank transfer network, and installment-heavy credit card cultures in both markets require payment handler support beyond standard card networks. VTEX's UCP integration is designed to surface these payment methods through the payment handler configuration rather than requiring agents to know each market's payment ecosystem separately.
VTEX's marketplace capabilities are central to the UCP implementation. Many VTEX customers are not single-brand retailers but marketplaces with hundreds of sellers. The UCP endpoint at the marketplace level aggregates the catalog and checkout capabilities of all sellers, giving agents a single endpoint to query for a broad product range.
B2B commerce is a growing VTEX use case. Several VTEX customers run B2B portals with customer-specific pricing and credit lines. The UCP Identity Linking implementation covers B2B buyer credentials, allowing agents to carry contract pricing into agent-initiated checkout sessions.
